An Invitation To Lent
Next week is Ash Wednesday, the day that begins the ancient Christian practice of observing a season of Lent. Lent is a season of 40 days, and it comes from the Anglo Saxon word lencten, which means "spring." The 40 days represent the time Jesus spent praying in the wilderness. Around the world Lent is a time of repentance and preparation for the coming of Easter. It is a time of self-examination, prayer, and commitment to spiritual growth. In preparation for Lent, you are invited to commit to acts of service by completing your iServe in 2019 form. It is due this Sunday. You are invited to be a part of a 5-week book study of “The Master Plan of Evangelism”. The Bible study looks at how Jesus developed 12 guys to become pillars in his church. The registration deadline for the study is this Sunday. Last, you are invited to come to the Ash Wednesday Worship Service & Soup Supper. More information can be found below.
