At First UMC, Amite we offer the following adult small group opportunities:
Sunday School
Every Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. we offer small group Bible study for adults.
Short-term Bible Studies & Groups (offered seasonally)
Throughout the year we offer mid-week Bible studies and groups. Contact the church office for current opportunities.
Choir
On Monday nights at 6:00 p.m. our choir gathers for fellowship and rehearsal of music for Sunday morning worship, the Christmas cantata, and the Easter cantata.
Music Lessons for Praise Team: Children, Youth, & Adults
Wednesdays from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m., musicians from our adult and youth praise teams offer music lessons to children 4th grade & up, youth, and adults. The lessons are a six week commitment, and are offered for acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, chords for keyboard, and drums. The lessons are not comprehensive, but instead focus on everyone learning to play one of the songs from our praise teams. If a person desires full, comprehensive lessons on piano, guitar, etc., professional music instruction should be sought outside of these lessons. The music lessons for praise team are free, but an extra donation to the church is requested. Also, students of acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and bass guitar need to provide their own instrument and amp for electric instruments.

Meets Tuesday nights at 6:00 p.m. for rehearsal for the 9:00 a.m. Contemporary Worship Service.
The Dorothy Rowdon Circle
On the third Thursday of the month at 10:30 a.m. a small group of ladies meet for fellowship, study, and mission.
Senior Adult Lunch
On the last Tuesday of the month at 12:00 p.m. our senior adults gather for a monthly fellowship and covered dish luncheon.
Exercise Class
Each week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 4:30 p.m. an exercise class is offered in our church’s multi-purpose building.
Monday Morning Painters
Each Monday from 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. adults gather for fellowship as each work on their latest work of art.
Narcotics Anonymous (N.A.)
Every Thursday at 7:00 p.m. a group of N.A. meets at our church.
