Quarterly Janitorial Supply Drive

The church needs the following items (Walmart, Target, Dollar Store, etc.) Please drop donations at the church office before or after worship services on Sunday or during office hours Monday through Thursday.
Fabuloso (Purple)
Pine Sol
Windex (Spray or Refill)
Bleach
Furniture Polish
Comet
Carpet Fresh (Arm & Hammer, Extra Strength, Vacuum Booster)
Lysol Disinfectant Spray
Kleenex (Square Box)
Febreze (Linen & Sky Scent)
Glade Air Freshener (Twist Top, Clean Linen Scent)
Antibacterial Liquid Hand Soap (Pump or Refill)
We will happily accept all donations but something to keep in mind - Scents matter!  Fresh clean and linen scents are preferred.  We tend to stay away from floral or heavy fragrances as they tend to irritate the lungs, trigger asthma, and cause headaches in those with sensitivities.

Janitorial Bulk Order Donation Needed $400.00

We will also need to place an order for those items we buy in bulk.  This order will include the purchase of toilet tissue, hand towels, paper towels, 6" & 9" paper plates, forks, small and large garbage bags, hand towels, 8oz cups, and hinge trays.  The total for this order will be $400.00.  If you can give a donation towards the purchase of these items it will be greatly appreciated! All donations must be labeled Janitorial Supplies.

Preaching Preview:
The Gospel of Jesus turns the world upside down.  What seems foolish to our world is wise in God’s eyes.  What seems weak to our world is strong in God’s eyes.  To think that someone being executed on a cross would lead to the salvation of the world.  That’s crazy!  That’s utter foolishness!  And yet, that is what happened!  We think we know what we know; we think we have all the wisdom we need.  And yet, God’s knowledge and wisdom is greater than we could ever imagine.  “He is the source of our life in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God.”  Jesus became wisdom for us!  May we be wise to know that!!!

Karl’s Kommentary: “You’ve Got This!”

Picture
Not that many years ago, no one used the phrased, “you’ve got this.”  Now, it’s a common comment we use to build someone up, to affirm what they’re about to do, to reassure them that indeed, they’ve “got” this – that they are able to handle whatever it is they are facing.

Had the phrase been popular in Aramaic, Jesus would have certainly used it.  He said to the woman caught in adultery, “You’ve got this…Go and sin no more.”  He said to the blind man, “You’ve got this…your faith has made you well.”  He said to the crowd after curing a demon-possessed boy, “You’ve got this…if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, nothing will be impossible for you.”

The Good News of Jesus is that he says to us all, “You’ve got this!”  No matter what happens in life, Jesus gives us a way to make it through.  It’s true!  Even in our darkest moments, Jesus, the Good Shepherd, even guides us through the valley of the shadow of death.

So today and every day, hear Jesus say to you, “You’ve Got this,” because we do, and because HE does!!!
