It's one thing to know ABOUT Jesus. It's another thing to KNOW Jesus. We can choose to learn all kinds of things, about all kinds of things, but which of those things (if any) will impact our lives in any kind of profound way? The same is true of Jesus. We can read and memorize Scripture, and can learn all kinds of deep theology, but have our lives been changed by any of those things?
Our faith is to be lived out in the world each and every day as we earnestly seek to grow in holiness. God loves us enough to meet us where we are but won't leave us there un-changed.
Join us on this new series called "Love - Out Loud" as we explore stories that changed people's lives.
This week we look at the story of Bartimaeus, the blind beggar, who Jesus asks: "What do you want me to do for you?"

Like it or not, "coming to church" is a barrier that some people struggle to get over. What's going to happen when i get there? Will people accept me? Will i sit in someone else's "spot?" What's the dress code? Will I understand what's going on? Will they make me stand up as a "visitor?" What if my kids are moving around too much?
To remove some of those barriers we're going to try something new - Dinner Church: a very casual time of worship and prayer in the context of a simple meal - out in the community - thanks to our friends at Murphy's Family Restaurant on Oak St.
I invite you to come, but I also encourage you to invite a friend, relative, neighbor, or work colleague, who might be able to connect with something like this more than a church service on a Sunday morning. If nothing else, we give ourselves permission to try, and fail, right?

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! You have been faithful to the work God is calling us to. Through the first quarter of 2026 we are running a $66,429 surplus. Now, there are some details behind those numbers that skew them a little bit, but praise God!!
You'll notice when comparing 2026 to 2025 that our expenses have remained stable, but our giving has increased. That's YOU showing up and trusting God to guide us to new places and to try new things, in the hope that we might reach new people with the Gospel. If you read the Trustee update, you'll see we just approved 3 new air conditioners for the East Wing. This total expense is $37,500. Because of our financial position we're going to allow this to hit our 2026 budget rather than pull funds from savings. What a blessing it is to be able to do that! Let's keep going...and keep trusting....as we move forward in hope! |
